PARENT & FAMILY SUPPORT ADVISER

 

15 hours per week

TERM TIME ONLY

Somerset Pay Spine – Grade 12 point 12 £11.50 per hour

 

Required to start ASAP, a Parent and Family Support Adviser to provide advice and guidance to families, parents and students to encourage their involvement in the school environment and thereby improve their learning opportunities.

 

The post will involve investigating and working to resolve some of the following issues:

  • The circumstances behind absence from school.
  • The circumstances contributing or causing children and young people to be unable to make the best use of time at school.
  • School transition.
  • Undertaking Early Help Assessment.
  • Liaising between home and school.
  • Undertaking the role of Lead Professional where appropriate.
  • Developing specific pieces of work in agreement with the family which may involve home visits.
  • Devise, implement and monitor action plans.
  • Presenting information to individuals and groups of parents regarding behaviour.
  • To work with the Education Welfare Service to help deliver action plans.

 

Previous experience of the role would be an advantage in light of the timescales involved with this appointment.

SENCO

Co-ordinator to join our lively and enthusiastic staffing team. 

 

We are looking for an experienced SENCO to lead the Special Needs provision at Milford Infants’ School, where we pride ourselves on providing personalised education for all of our pupils.

 

The successful candidate will have experience of a range of SEND which they can use effectively to support the children and staff in EYFS and Key Stage 1. This is a non-classed base role and an ideal opportunity for someone already qualified as a SENCO.

CLERK TO GOVERNORS

 

10 hours per meeting

Grade 13:  £10.21 - £11.27 per hour

 

Milford Infants’ School is seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Governing Body.

 

The governing body, through its appointed and elected governors, plays a distinctive and essential role in the continuing success and development of the school.

 

The primary purpose of the role is that of Governance Professional, working with the Chair of Governors, other governors, and Headteacher in dealing with administrative matters for the governing body and advising on legal issues of governance. 

 

The role will include preparing for, taking notes at and producing minutes for meetings and involves some evening work. Good keyboard skills and the ability to write agendas and produce accurate concise minutes are essential. Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

 

                     The post will involve several hours work for each meeting and, typically, there will be eight Full Governing Body meetings and three Finance Committee meetings per year.
