  • *Are you a Key Worker?*

    Thu 19 Mar 2020
We are awaiting an official list of Key Workers from the Government but presently they say it could include NHS workers, police, school staff and delivery drivers. To enable us to plan for school and pre-school next week, please email office@milford-inf.somerset.sch.uk if you are a key worker and will require childcare for your child as of Monday 23rd March. Please include your child’s name, parents name/s and your role as a key worker. These children will be expected to be in school every day unless they are unwell or your family are in self isolation.

    *Coronavirus Update*
As many of you have no doubt seen, Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, has this evening announced that schools will close at close of play on Friday to everyone except those of key workers and vulnerable children. The government are expected to publish a list of key workers tomorrow, after which we will be in touch with more information.
Thank you for your patience at this time.
  • Action Regarding Covid19

    Fri 13 Mar 2020

    Action Regarding Covid19

We would like to reassure parents that we are taking daily advice from Public Health with regards to action concerning Covid-19. All classes have undertaken handwashing and hygiene lessons this week. All adults are reminding children to ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ and reminding children of good handwashing techniques. We have been encouraging the children to sing Happy Birthday twice whilst washing their hands. Extra hand wash, hand sanitiser and tissues have been ordered and classroom supplies restocked.

Public Health England recommends that in addition to handwashing before eating, after coughing and sneezing and after using toilets, everyone should also wash hands after travelling on public transport.

To support the delay of the spread of the virus, the Department for Health and Social Care has asked anyone who shows certain symptoms to stay at home for 7 days, regardless of whether they have travelled to affected areas. This means people should stay at home and avoid all but essential contact with others for 7 days from the point of displaying mild symptoms, to slow the spread of infection.

    The symptoms are:

    • A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
    • A new, continuous cough

You do not need to call NHS 111 to stay at home. If your symptoms worsen during your stay at home period or are no better after 7 days contact NHS 111 online at 111.nhs.uk. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

  • Stargazing Evening Update

    Tue 03 Mar 2020
We understand there is a lot of disappointment about limited places in the Space Dome. We apologise that this was not better explained in the letter.
ALL OTHER ACTIVITIES at our Stargazing Evening including Space Detectives and Virtual Reality with Jo Richardson, visiting astronomy groups with their telescopes, making S'mores around the campfire at Forest School, ipad stargazing on the playground and others will still take place and are not limited. Please still come to enjoy these activities even if you have not got a place in the dome.
We are endeavouring to book the Space Dome for a full school day in the coming weeks to enable ALL INFANT CHILDREN to enjoy this learning experience.
Thank you for your understanding and apologies again.
